Strategically shaping the future requires combating the urge for immediacy

Maria Beatriz Gonçalves is a journalist, researcher and strategist, as well as a founding member and Partnerships Director of ALAF, the Latin Futures Association (Asociación Latina de Futuros), a nonprofit organization that operates as a membership association of Latin Americans interested in discussing and building futures centered on the well-being of future generations. Its mission is to strengthen the region’s leading role in building a future where the economy, society and the environment coexist in balance.
