Sobre Nicolás

He has been working at the intersection of culture, new technologies, and internet culture for 20 years. He is the founder and director of FUTURX, a research center dedicated to exploring the impact of emerging technologies such as AI, new internet dynamics, VR, and new tools on Latin American cultural creation and ecosystems. He excels in two complementary roles: as an educator and researcher, he has produced a wide range of reports, lectures, publications, podcasts, and other content focused on the relationship between technology and culture; and as a strategic consultant, he advises cultural projects on how to leverage new technologies to generate a significant impact in their respective fields. His critical approach fosters community-based learning and experimentation, as well as the integration of new technologies into projects. Currently, he researches and develops processes related to the tensions between the attention economy, streaming platforms, artificial intelligence, and cultural sovereignty. He advocates for the creation of protocols for the critical use of AI by cultural organizations, as a tool for rethinking the digital present from an ethical, regional, and collective perspective.
